Investor Update: Hurricane Energy makes another discovery with Warwick West well

Hurricane Energy (LON:HUR) has made a large discovery with its Warwick West well.  It flowed light oil naturally at a rate of 1,300 barrels per day according to operator and Centrica subsidiary Spirit Energy. Warwick West is the third well in the current drill programme at Greater Warwick.

Greatland Gold (LON:GGP) has reported what it describes as another set of  outstanding drill results from its Havieron gold project. Partner Newcrest hit more than 100m of gold mineralisation in one hole and bumper grades at depth in two others.

Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury (LON:BMY) is entering the Chinese market through a joint venture with 
China Youth Publishing Group and Roaring Lion Media. The business will be based in Beijing and publish its own titles.

Ocado Group (LON:OCDO) is to raise £500mln through the issue of guaranteed senior unsecured convertible bonds at a knock-down price to fund its global roll-out.  Interest will be between 0.75% -1.25% per year with the conversion price  to be a 40-45% premium to today’s close.

Retailers have enjoyed some relief from better Black Friday shopping that forecast. Footfall increased by 3.3% with another lift expected today from cyber Monday sales.

Ted Baker is to take a write-down of between £20-25mln for overvalued stock, though the clothing retailer does not expect any cash impact. An independent investigations has been established to identify how the problem arose.
